New Joy Fellowship is an inter-denominational church.  Many of us have Lutheran roots.  There are others in our church who were raised in the traditions of Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, and Church of Christ.

We believe in the authority and inerrancy of the Bible as it was originally recorded.

Our position on scripture is non-negotiable, but we recognize that among Bible-believing Christians, there have been disagreements through the ages about certain interpretations of scripture.
We recognize that we can't be all things to all people, but we strive not to make an issue out of topics that many good Christians have disagreed upon for centuries. Therefore, we seek to to "major in the major doctrines" and "minor in the minor doctrines."  In other words, we tolerate differences of opinion about certain things, like Baptism, the Lord's Supper, for two examples.

We are in the mainstream of the historic Christian faith -- the Apostle's Creed frames our statement of belief:

We believe in God the Father, the Almighty,
We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilalte, was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe the in Holy Spirit,
The holy Christian church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And the life everlasting.
